Reverse Vending Corporation is a British company which specialises in reverse vending machine systems, installation, material recovery and recycling.

We have an experienced management team with over fifteen years experience in Reverse Vending technology, recycling and waste management.

Reverse Vending Corporation Ltd supplies reverse vending machines for a range of markets and is also structuring a UK consortium of stakeholders involved in reverse vending logistics management to provide a total outsourced recovery and recycling system for clients.

Our services bring a number of benefits to stakeholders in the supply chain, including a visible demonstration of their Corporate Social Responsibility for environmental recycling.

Intelligent Reverse Vending collection systems
Reverse vending machines, (RVM’s) are automated machines that utilise advanced "proven" technology to identify, sort, collect and process used beverage containers. Used in Europe for over three decades, In most cases RVM’s are used in markets that have deposits on beverage containers, offering a highly efficient method of identifying the deposit amount of each container returned and providing a refund to the customer.

Through the capabilities of its reverse vending technology, we offer a range of dynamic initiatives designed to increase the value of the recycling experience for the host and the user.

Using a Reverse Vending Machine

The recycler simply, places the empty bottle/can , into the receiving aperture; the recycler is guided through this process by the on screen help on the monitor, and by instructions illustrated on the machine.

The horizontal in-feed system allows the user to insert containers quickly and easily .

The bottle/can is then automatically rotated; the bottle/can is then scanned by a OnmiDirectional UPC Scanner, which scans the beverage container's UPC code.

Once a container is scanned, identified (matched to database) and determined to be a participating container, it is processed and typically crushed to reduce its size to avoid spillages of liquid and to increase storage capacity. We can use material recognition instead/as well as bar code scanner when needed. More >>>

A large number of bottles/cans maybe received prior to the recycler obtaining the voucher. Any foreign objects or unsuitable materials are automatically rejected by the machine.

The recycler then receives a voucher, automatically dispensed by the RVMs, this printed voucher maybe redeemed in store at a supermarket, alternatively used towards the purchase a related incentive product.

The data acquisition capabilities of the machines are second to none, the software allows the data captured of bottle/can type, quantity, brand, to be accessed from a computer anywhere in the Country via an internal ISDN modem.

The data will highlight, quantities received, each hour, each day, each month, type of bottle/brand etc.

The RVM’s are accessible remotely, allowing updates, voucher details, bar code data bases etc to be updated via the internet from anywhere on the globe.

The RVM will also inform the maintenance company of any faults or if the machine requires attention via the internal ISDN modem and inform the operative if the large receptor container require emptying

The materials collected, have been reduced in size (minimum of one tenth of original volume) and separated, therefore creating a valuable commodity. The recyclates are now 100% pure and reduced in size, therefore creating savings on current waste management costs, and creating a new revenue stream More>>

The materials are separated in the machine and reduced in size (Cans in minimum ratio of 20:1 and plastic bottles (PET) at a ratio of 15:1) of their original size by large compactors .

All used plastic bottles and used drinks cans ( steel and aluminium) are automatically collected, reduced in size and stored inside the RVM

reVend 300 Reverse Vending Recycling Machine - Upto 2000 plastic bottles and (steel and aluminium) cans are collected in into separate accumulation bins (each accumulation bin holds a fitted collection bag, the bags take aprox 4 minutes to change for a new bag, the bag is then sealed and stored, ready for collection, the reVend 300 Reverse Vending Recycling Machine is able to automate the collection of 1000's of used drink bottles and cans each week.

Functions:

  • receives UBC, reads bar codes or material recognition system to sort and/or compact used material.
  • With a cycle time of under 1 second the RVM compacts Cans in minimum ratio of 20:1 and plastic bottles (PET) at a ratio of 15:1
  • Material is automatically sorted into separate accumulation bins according to material type and/or product code.
  •  RVM weighs & rejects partially full containers.
  • Used compacted containers are held in plastic bags inside the RVM.
  • There are no issues with spillage, leaking, or attracting bees/wasps or vermin.
  •  Any residual fluid is accumulated & collected internally.

The recyclates are then stored, then baled and ready to be recycled

Vouchers /Coupons

We have a couponing program, which enables product discount coupons and special offers to be included on the refund receipt, this opens up a timely channel of communication that can bring valuable purchasing incentives to the consumer precisely when it has the most impact—in the store directly before the consumer begins his or her shopping. More >>

Smart / Loyalty Card

As a means of encouraging customer loyalty, many retail supermarket chains have introduced loyalty card programs in which shoppers can build up points according to how much they purchase, which can later be redeemed for cash or merchandise.

The technology is available for RVMs that enables the container return to be registered in a loyalty card account instead of being printed out on a receipt. This technology gives the consumer the chance to save up his or her points, either in a separate account or combined with a supermarket's loyalty card program, thereby providing increased value for the consumer and encouraging loyalty to the retailer. Retailers
Outsourced total solution for front store recovery management. Potential to increase UBC recovery and recycling levels to 50 - 65 per cent to help meet Government recycling targets. Hygiene and litter problems significantly reduced.  One-way containers are crushed, compacted or shredded which reduces the need for storage space and reduces the risk of fraudulent multiple redemption of containers. Schools and Colleges

Reducing the amount spent on waste disposal can have financial as well as environmental benefits. Waste skips and other conventional waste storage methods can be reduced thereby reducing cost whilst having environmental benefits. Reverse vending provides an opportunity for the entire school to work together as a team. We have a range of single automatic "stand alone" machines, which receive, identify, separate by material kind and then crush, drinks cans and bottles (or shred vending cups) ready for transporting to recycling plants. One college has been most innovative by including reverse vending as part of its environmental curriculum and has devised an incentive scheme with prizes for Year Groups based on the most successful recycling teams More >>

Offices
We can provide a range of automatic "stand alone" machines which receive, identify, separate by material kind and then crush used aluminum and steel drinks cans, plastic bottles, or glass bottles, and even shred used vending cups, ready for transporting to recycling plants.
The Reverse vending machines can be linked electronically to vending machine installations thereby assisting with purchase and disposable profiles More >>

Brand owners
Reverse vending machines provide brand owners with the opportunity for involvement in vouchers/coupon incentive programmes for brand related promotions and sponsorship/endorsement. Reverse vending activity increases consumer loyalty and awareness and helps to provide comprehensive data of products recycled and statistical data evidence to meet packaging  and environmental legislation.

Reward recycling

Reverse vending provides the consumer with a fast, more convenient and reliable way to dispose of their empties. RVC considers value-added consumer services, such as the 'in store' incentive voucher scheme makes environmental recycling a far more enjoyable and rewarding experience and helps give the host store a competitive advantage in a tough market.

The “Stand-alone” RVM’s are about the size of a vending machine and plug into a standard outlet.

EACH MACHINE IS MADE BESPOKE FOR THE CLIENT TO REDUCE COSTS AND ENSURE THAT THE MACHINE IS "FUTURE PROOF"

No other connection is needed. (An ISDN or ASDL modem maybe also connected for data capture) The machines can accept ALL beverage containers.

Benefits of Intelligent Reverse Vending Collection Systems:

  • Proven technology - Our Reverse Vending Machines are the most advanced (UBC) used beverage container recognition systems on the market, providing fast and accurate identification of beverage container type and material.
